Experience Matters

Trigger Point Dry Needling

Trigger point dry needling (TDN) is a minimally invasive procedure where a thin, solid filament needle (similar to an acupuncture needle) is inserted directly into myofascial trigger points—hyperirritable spots in taut bands of skeletal muscle.

These trigger points can cause localized pain, referred pain, muscle tightness, and restricted range of motion.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy

Here is a partial list of problems treated:

  • Tendonitis (Achilles, knee, hip, shoulder)
  • Tendinopathy with or without calcification
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow)
  • Medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow)
  • Bursitis
  • Endometriosis
  • Pelvic floor pain syndrome
  • Gastroparesis/constipation
  • Muscle strain

CranioSacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on technique that aims to relieve tension and enhance the body’s natural healing processes by working with the craniosacral system — the membranes and fluids surrounding the brain and spinal cord.

Various Manual Therapy Applications:

  • Primal Reflex Release Technique
  • Strain/Counterstrain
  • Advanced Strain/Counterstrain for circulatory and lymphatics
  • Activation
  • Muscle Energy Technique (contract/relax)
  • Joint mobilization
  • Myofascial release
  • Articulofascial release

Visceral Mobilization

Visceral mobilization is a gentle, hands-on manual therapy technique that focuses on improving the mobility and function of internal organs (viscera) and their surrounding connective tissues to support overall health and relieve pain.

“Mark Snyder is amazing. I feel so blessed to work with him. Got great results after just a few sessions compared to years of not truly solving issues with chiropractic and acupuncture sessions that only temporarily alleviated symptoms. Smart, intuitive, and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend!”

“After seeing Mark, I can now turn my neck enough to drive again! He helps keep my pain levels down, my muscles relaxed, and my joints stronger to keep them from dislocating or spraining. I’ve never experienced physical therapy like this. He treats the issues at hand instead of throwing a bunch of random exercises at you and calling it a day.”

~MEG

“Mark is very knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable with him and feel like I have a better understanding of what my body issues are.”

About Me:

I am a graduate of University of Maryland, Eastern Shore and a Doctoral graduate of Creighton University. I have attended 5 schools and taught at 2, so I love March Madness. I also played football at the University of Richmond. In my 30+ years I have worked primarily in out patient orthopedics, but I have also worked in a variety of other settings including my first job at an acute care hospital and some home health. At one point I specialized in facial paralysis and now have a lot of experience with hypermobility disorders.

With a strong passion for education, I have been a professor for a physical therapy assistant program and have taught continuing education to health care professionals in the US and in Europe. Some of my advanced training includes myofascial release, joint mobilization, Strain/Counter-strain, Muscle Energy Technique, Cranio-sacral, visceral mobilization, lymph drainage, Neural Tissue Tension Technique, biofeedback, motor nerve conduction velocity testing, activation, trigger point dry needling, neuromuscular reeducation, and Primal Reflex Release Technique (PRRT®).
In my spare time I like to exercise and enjoy my children.
